Successful Completion of Service Entry Blueprint for Insurance Regulators Training Program
The Insurance Institute of Nepal (IIN) successfully conducted the Service Entry Blueprint for Insurance Regulators Training Program from 27–30 October 2024 at the IIN Training Hall, Premier Building, Narayanchaur, Naxal, Kathmandu.
This intensive 4-day program brought together participants from insurance regulatory bodies and industry institutions, offering them an in-depth orientation to the core functions of insurance regulation. The training was designed to strengthen the capabilities of professionals entering the sector and covered four key divisions:
1. Legal and Regulation– Legal framework, grievance handling, AML regulations, and intermediary management.
2. Management– Administration, financial management, HR relations, and IT systems.
3. Supervision – Risk management, onsite/offsite inspections, and financial analysis.
4. Insurance Development and Promotion – Agricultural insurance, microinsurance, reinsurance, and policy development.
The program opened with remarks by Ms. Pujan Dhungel, Director at the Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA), and concluded with remarks by Mr. Susil Dev Subedi, Director at NIA and CEO of the Insurance Institute of Nepal.
Over four consecutive days (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM daily), participants engaged in structured sessions led by expert speakers, with interactive discussions, case studies, and practical examples. Tea breaks and lunch breaks provided opportunities for networking and peer learning.
The event received positive feedback from attendees, who highlighted the practical insights, relevance of content, and expert facilitation as major strengths. This program has set a strong benchmark for capacity-building initiatives aimed at new employees in the insurance industry and regulators.
