IIN Conducts Two-Day Training on Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) in Koshi Province
The Insurance Institute of Nepal Ltd. (IIN) successfully organized a two-day intensive training program on Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) for insurance professionals, including provincial managers from both life and non-life insurance sectors, as well as representatives from the Nepal Insurance Authority. The program was held on 20–21 Bhadra 2082 at Sakura Adventures and Resort, Morang, Koshi Province, with the aim of enhancing leadership, communication, emotional intelligence, goal-setting, and workplace effectiveness through the principles and tools of NLP.
The training was formally inaugurated by Ms. Preeti Deo, representative of the Nepal Insurance Authority, Koshi Province, and Dr. Laxmi Kanta Paudel from the Insurance Institute of Nepal, who both emphasized the importance of continuous learning and capacity building in the evolving insurance sector. The program was coordinated by Mr. Ganesh Sharma from IIN.

The sessions were facilitated by Mr. Joseph B. Niraula (Josh), an experienced NLP trainer and motivational speaker, who delivered highly interactive sessions designed to link NLP concepts with the practical challenges faced by professionals in the insurance sector. The training covered leadership in the 21st century, NLP and leadership styles, communication techniques, emotional intelligence, goal-setting, problem-solving, negotiation skills, work-life balance, and motivational insights. Participants were engaged through a combination of lectures, group discussions, role plays, real-life case scenarios, and NLP exercises, ensuring that the content was both practical and relevant.
A total of 39 professionals actively participated in the training, representing various institutions from across Koshi Province. Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive, with many reporting improvements in self-awareness, communication, and leadership skills. They highlighted the clarity of delivery, the relevance of content to current industry challenges, and the motivational impact of the sessions, rating the training as excellent across all aspects.
The program concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, where dignitaries including Ms. Preeti Deo, Dr. Laxmi Kanta Paudel, and Mr. Joseph B. Niraula commended the participants for their active involvement and encouraged them to apply their learnings within their organizations. The event ended with a group photo session, marking the successful completion of the training.
Based on the enthusiasm of participants and the overall success of the program, IIN has recommended that similar NLP training programs be organized at regular intervals, with follow-up refresher sessions to sustain learning and with broader participation from professionals across different levels of the insurance sector. This initiative marked a significant step in strengthening capacity building in Nepal’s insurance industry, reaffirming IIN’s commitment to fostering professional growth and innovation through meaningful training programs.
