The Insurance Institute of Nepal successfully organized a two-day professional training program titled “Property Insurance: Practical Skills for a Resilient Insurance Workforce” on 2082/09/04 and 2082/09/05 at Siddhartha Hotel, Bharatpur, Chitwan. The program was conducted from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm and was attended by 17 participants representing the non-life insurance sector.
The training was designed to strengthen technical and operational competencies in property insurance, in line with the evolving risk landscape and regulatory framework of Nepal’s insurance industry. As property insurance continues to grow due to urban development, infrastructure expansion, and increased disaster exposure, the program aimed to enhance institutional capacity and service quality.

The sessions were facilitated by Mr. Topendra Kattel, a recognized Resource Person and National Trainer at the Insurance Institute of Nepal.
The program covered property insurance fundamentals within Nepal’s regulatory environment, underwriting and pricing principles, policy issuance and documentation control, customer handling, and claims management in accordance with Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA) directives. Emphasis was placed on accurate risk evaluation, ethical practices, compliance, and operational efficiency.
The second day included advanced discussions on underwriting factors, claim settlement principles, endorsements, and operational excellence. Interactive case studies, group discussions, and question-and-answer sessions were conducted to reinforce practical understanding.
The training concluded with certificate distribution to the participants, contributing to the development of a skilled, compliant, and resilient property insurance workforce in Nepal.
