Elevating Life and Non-life insurers Skill: Integrating Technical, Engineering and Interpersonal Skills in Dhangadhi

The Insurance Institute of Nepal (IIN) successfully conducted a specialized training program aimed at enhancing the professional capabilities of life and non-life insurance professionals in Sudurpaschim Province, Dhangadhi. The two-day intensive workshop, held on February 7-8, 2025, at Rubus Hotel in Dhangadhi, Kailali, brought together 41 insurance professionals 29 from life insurance and 12 from non-life insurance sectors.

The training program was developed in close consultation with the Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA) Sudurpaschim Provincial office, addressing specific skill gaps identified within the regional insurance sector. This collaborative approach ensured that the curriculum directly addressed the practical challenges faced by insurance professionals in their daily operations.

Mr. Ganesh Sharma (Company Secretary, IIN), inaugurated the event with a welcome address highlighting the Institute’s vision and mission to elevate Nepal’s insurance industry to global standards. His comprehensive overview of the program set clear expectations for the participants regarding the training objectives and schedule.

The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Hridayeshor Pandit (Sudurpaschim Province Head-NIA), who delivered an insightful keynote address on the critical importance of continuous professional development in the insurance sector. Mr. Pandit highlighted the regulatory requirement mandating insurance companies to allocate 2% of their revenue towards employee training and development initiatives which helps to empower the human assets of the industry.
