Inspirational Leadership Using Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

Continuing its province-based leadership development initiative, the Insurance Institute of Nepal Ltd. (IIN) successfully conducted a two-day non-residential training on “Inspirational Leadership Using Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)” from 2nd to 3rd May 2025 at Hotel Devotee, Dhangadhi.
The training convened provincial heads, senior officials from life and non-life insurance companies, and representatives from the Nepal Insurance Authority. Aimed at enhancing capacity within the insurance sector, the training focused on key areas such as emotional intelligence, communication, and adaptive leadership all grounded in NLP principles.
Training session were led by Mr. Joseph B. Niraula, a certified NLP practitioner and motivational trainer. His dynamic and practical facilitation style was highly appreciated by participants, contributing to program overall success.

- Emotional intelligence and self-awareness
- Effective communication and negotiation techniques
- Goal setting, decision-making, and work-life balance
A variety of interactive methods such as role plays, group discussions, real-life case scenarios, and guided NLP exercises were used to ensure an engaging and impactful learning experience.
Participant Reflections:
Participants reported significant personal insights, improved leadership clarity, and appreciation for the practical tools offered. There was strong demand for advanced and follow-up NLP training in the future.
The program concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, marking a successful learning journey. IIN looks forward to replicating similar NLP-based leadership programs across provinces to build stronger and more resilient leadership within Nepal’s insurance industry.
