Insurance Institute Nepal (IIN) successfully conducted a two-day training program titled “Research Method for Insurance Professionals (Quantitative)” for employees of Nepal Insurance Authority on April 24–25, 2025, at the IIN Training Hall.
The program was attended by 21 participants and facilitated by Prof. Arhan Sthapit, Ph.D., Former Dean, Faculty of Management & Law, Nepal Open University, and Associate Professor Shankar Kumar Shrestha, Ph.D., from Public Youth Campus, Tribhuvan University.
The training focused on strengthening participants’ understanding of quantitative research and its practical application in evidence-based decision-making. Sessions covered research design, hypothesis formulation, and selection of appropriate data types, along with hands-on guidance on questionnaire development and ensuring data reliability and validity.
Participants were introduced to JAMOVI statistical software, where they learned data organization, visualization, and basic statistical analysis. The program also emphasized interpretation of statistical outputs and translating findings into meaningful insights.
By the end of the training, participants gained the ability to design basic research studies, perform statistical analysis, and prepare structured research reports relevant to their professional roles. The sessions were interactive and practical, enabling participants to relate the learning directly to their work environment.
The program concluded with a certificate distribution and feedback session. Participants expressed positive feedback, noting the relevance and immediate applicability of the concepts and tools discussed during the training.
